The National Gallery was established in 1878 as a small collection of 117 works exhibited at the Athens University. In 1896, Alexandros Soutzos, bequeathed his collection and estate to the Greek Government aspiring to the creation of an art museum.
The latest extension of the National Gallery can ccomodate 20,000 art works and our company has developed and supplied the new led lighting system for the exhibition space for both the permanent collections as well for the periodic exhibitions.
We worked together with the museography study designers and developed a sophisticated system capable to illuminate the high ceilings and the exhibition panels. The result is a light grid suspended system with special mounting components that allow the flexibility to mount the exhibition panels directly on the luminaire profiles. The pendant track has an indirect lighting distribution, serving as the main infrastructure of the exhibition equipment. As a luminaire manufacturer we have additional supplied more than 4.500m of led luminaires for the luminous stretch ceilings of the permanent exibition spaces.
